Three Water Reform: Your questions.

We ALL have questions and that’s what Councils all around the country, including Hamilton City Council, are going back to Government with in October.

Following Council's  feedback, there will be more a formed proposal to consult more widely with our community on.

In the meant time here are some answers to your most frequently asked questions and answers complied by Council.

My key questions (and something I have spent a lot of time on this week) are:

  • How will the proposed reform strengthen and support councils to create and deliver on the aspirations of our community?
  • What are the key benefits and disadvantages for Hamilton in the current proposal?
  • What can be done better?
  • How are assets accounted for?
  • How do make sure local people – who pay the bills – continue to have their voice heard?

...and many more

It is right to ask questions, to be curious and challenging, but not to ignore the challenge we have before us. Government has asked for feedback and we should provide it.

This is PART 2 of a series of 4 blogs created to share information on the Three Water Reform process and create much need conversation. Please see my website for all 4 blogs.
